COURSE INFORMATION
Races
The swim course will follow the east shore line of the Snake River from the entrance at the Pancheri bridge to the exit at South Tourist Park. Water safety individuals will assist in guiding participants.
Duathletes will start at the same location near the Pancheri bridge.
Transition Areas
To utilize the great Snake River the race includes two transition areas. Transition 1 (T1): Participants will transition from their swim or initial run to the bike at the South Tourist Park. Transition 2 (T2): All participants will transition from bike to the final run at the events grounds.
Transition areas will open for set-up at 5:30 a.m. and will close at 7:15 a.m. (Everyone must be setup by 7:15 a.m.)
Both transition areas will have an aid stations with water and sports drink. Transition areas are for athletes only; family, friends, coaches, and trainers of participants are not allowed in these areas. Volunteers will be available for stripping of wetsuits and other assistance. Race staff does not transport gear from either transition area.
Swimming
Wetsuits are recommended but not required for the triathlon; the water temperature ranges between from 65-70 degrees.
Biking
The biking portion of the race will start at South Tourist Park. It will take the racers out to the New Sweden area of the Greater Idaho Falls community and return to the Snake River Landing events grounds. Participants will ride along flat city and country roads with and scenic countryside landscapes. The roads are not closed so all riders must ride with caution. NOTE: No participant may wear any form of headphones. Doing so will automatically disqualify the participant and they will be removed from the race.
Running
The running course will start and finish at the Snake River Landing events grounds. Runners will experience a wonder run around and through the Snake River Landing property, including the man made lake at the southern most part of the course..
Rules
No one under the age of 8 years of age will be permitted to participate in either race unless specially approved by the race director. All juniors, those participants under the age of 18 must attend the racers meeting. Failure to attend the meeting will disqualify them from racing and they will not be allowed on the course.
No music devices are not allowed on the bike! They may be used on the run but volume must be low enough to allow participants to hear traffic, volunteers, police officers, and fellow participants.
Awards
The awards ceremony will start at 10:30 a.m. at the Snake River Landing events grounds. Overall awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers in the individual triathlon and duathlon races. Team overall awards will be given to the top three team regardless of age or gender.
Age group awards will be given to the top male and female finishers of the individual triathlon and duathlon races based on the number of entrance in each age group.
